Mycotoxicoses are diseases caused by the effect of mycotoxins on the animal organism. These toxins are secreted by fungi and cause major side effects in the world of animal production, lower carcass yield and serious economic consequences. Many of these fungi are found in contaminated feed species such as Fusarium sp., Aspergillus sp. and Penicillium sp.

Both problems can be solved by the addition of mycotoxin binders and preservatives for feed in animal diets. There is a product composed by silicoglycidol and organic acids with both functions. To test its effectiveness, there has been an in vitro study lasting 60 days.

CONCLUSIONS

The results obtained in the analysis of samples taken at 30 and 60 days indicate that the antimicrobial capacity of the product is sufficient to maintain the quality of the substrate since microbiological testing parameters are within the limits established quality.

This product is a preservative based on organic acids, like the rest of them, exhibit a rapid antimicrobial effect which endures prolonged time (up to 2 months). This is because its action is bacteriostatic and fungistatic. It has created by Biovet, S.A. and is marketed under the name ALQUERFEED BINMOLD.
