In the V Iberoamerican Pig-Farming Congress that took place in Lima, the Peruvian Pig-farming Association presented Biovet Awards for Research.

The jury gave a three-way tie in the first place to the following speeches:

1. Phylogenetic analysis of the Emergent Strains of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea in Peru; by Dr. Gina Castro Sanguinetti.

2. Molecular detection of the American genotype of the PRRS virus in Lima – Peru; Dr. Mercy Ramírez Velásquez.

3. Risk Factors for the PRRS in Local Pig-farming in Huaral – Lima; by Dr. Rubén Mallaopoma Soriano.

The awards were given by Lda. Ana Maria Trellez, APP’s General Manager, and Júlia Pié, from Biovet S.A.
