Effect of immunostimulant pronutrients in fattening pigs

This study, carried out in China, aimed to evaluate the effect on blood parameters of the use of a compound based on immunostimulant pronutrients in swine.

Experimental design

There were 30 pigs of 30 kg in each batch, which had been separated into 3 more groups (3 replicates per batch). On day 34^th of the trial, 6 blood samples from each group were collected randomly.

Results

Batch treated with immunostimulant pronutrients (batch 2) showed statistically significant differences (p <0.05) in the IgM, IgA, and IgG antibody values compared to the other two batches (batch 1 – control and batch 2 – Astragalus polysaccharides) (Charts 1, 2 and 3).

Conclusions

This trial demonstrated that the compound based on immunostimulant pronutrients significantly increased the specific immunity in fattening pigs.

These immunostimulant pronutrients are commercially available under the name Alquernat Immuplus, by Biovet S.A. Laboratories.
