Biovet International Symposium: Assessment Methods of mycotoxin binders.

The third session moderated by Dr. Ramon Jove (CESAC) was dedicated to the evaluation methods of mycotoxin binders. In this first conference the results were presented using new technologies that simulate the actual conditions of the digestive tract of monogastric and polygastric. Narcis Xatruch Biovet, S.A. presented the in vitro studies conducted at pH 3, pH 5 and pH 9 in monogastric and pH 6.1, pH 2.5, pH 7.5, pH 4.2 and pH 7 in polygastric indicating the importance of knowing the percentage of desorption in colon area. The desorption in colon allows mycotoxins, fastened along the entire intestine, can access to the blood without going through the liver. The technologies presented in this session allow the development and evaluation of more effective mycotoxin binders and a scientifically calculated dosage depending on the contamination of feed.
